COPPER HOUSE, BERKHAMSTED

Working with existing services, keeping the costs down,  for stunning new restaurant in landmark building

Challenges

Located in the Chiltern Hills, the Copper House is a Grade II listed building that required a sympathetic renovation. The owners of this exceptional new venue in Berkhamsted are passionate about every element of their bar and restaurant. The stunning interiors have been designed with flair and subtlety by the talented Copper House team and every detail matters to them. Working within their existing HVAC solution, they wanted to use as much of it as possible.

Our Solution

They acquired the building with existing HVAC services – air conditioning, ventilation as well as a kitchen extract. Our priority was to ascertain if the existing services were appropriate for the new business and were in the correct condition for continued and reliable use. We carried out a full validation on each piece of equipment and were pleased to confirm to our client that the equipment could be retained and redeployed. And with the addition of a Door Curtain to preserve the temperature within the space during winter season, they could proceed.

We sized and selected this additional piece of equipment to complete the new design. It enabled the Copper House team to confirm that element of their budget early on in the project, no doubt reassigning values to enhance ‘front of house’ activities.
